Rosedale’s Video Projection System is on the way!
…but wait– there’s more!
While the Video Projection System promises to give Rosedale many exciting new ways to minister, the System itself brings several new ministry opportunities to Rosedale as well! These new ministry impacts are such that we’re reorganizing how we do both video and audio tasks! Yes, together they make up the new Worship Media Ministry!
The following are Worship Media Ministry areas that will need addressed as we move into this new chapter in our Church’s life. Interested in several areas? No problem! Only able to help every other week? No problem! We’ll work together to find the participation level that’s right for you.
Design
- Critcal Need: Creating video presentations for worship songs.
- Critcal Need: Creating weekly video “announcement loops” for display before Sunday services (would include birthdays and anniversaries).
- Critcal Need: Creating themed video presentations for holidays and special services.
- Creating video Scipture and Responsive Reading ‘”slides” as needed by service requirements.
- Creating graphics, logos, or other copy as needed.
- Develop new ways to use media within worship services., within the Church building, and for events.
- Develop new ways to use media on Rosedale’s website.
Operations
- Critcal Need: Running video presentation software and related video equipment during Sunday Morning Worship and other activities.
- Running sound board and related audio equipment during Sunday Morning Worship and other activities.
- Photography of people, Church building, and events.
- Videography and interview of people and events.
- Administration of Rosedale’s website’s media content: video, pictures, and sound.
Now don’t fool yourself into thinking you have to be an artist, graphic designer, or computer tech to help in these areas (though those things certainly won’t hurt)! The Media Ministry Team will work together to best utilize our God-given gifts for His glory in creative and technical ways! If you feel God has given you a gift related to anything creative or technical in a presentation environment, then the Worship Media Ministry Team just may be for you! Youth Spaghetti Dinner February 11th
The youth will be sponsoring a “All you care to eat” Spaghetti dinner at the church on February 11th from 6-8 pm. The donation for the dinner is $7 for adults and $5 for children. You may purchase tickets from any of our teens or pay at the door the night of the event. Please let Darlene or Marquis know if you are coming so they can properly plan for the event. Lets help support our teens as they plan to go to festival of life in Boston!
M & M Breakfast Jan. 21
Due to weather conditions we will NOT be having the men’s breakfast this morning(1/21/12). This will be moved back into February. If you have any questions please feel free to call me. Operation Overboard Wish List
This year’s Vacation Bible School, Operation Overboard is scheduled for July 16 – 20. That is approximately 190 days away! I can hardly believe that VBS is so close. I’m gearing up for another great year of ministering to the children of our community.
I wish my excitement alone could make this program happen, but that is not the case. I need everyone’s help. I need people in all facets of VBS. Even if you cannot make it to the program each night, I can use you! I’ve attached a wish list of items for Operation Overboard.
This list includes items that are needed for decorating, crafts, recreation, the returning Pre-School program and the Bible story. Snack donations will be requested closer to VBS. If you are able to purchase or give a donation towards any of the items, it would be greatly appreciated.
I’ll update the list monthly so that everyone can see our progress. With the congregation’s help, this year’s Operation Overboard will be a huge S P L A S H!!!

Looking to 2012
Good morning church family,
I hope everyone is recovering from the busy Christmas season and the pain for some of going back to work. Every year we think about the new year with the hope that it will be better in some way than the previous one . Every year we promise ourselves that we will change what needs to be changed, make right what needs to be made right. Is this year going to be different for you? Are you really going to stop making bad choices? Are you really going to entrust your life to the only one that can change you from the inside out?
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he [she] is a new creation; the old is gone, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 Just like a new year coming in, if we are in Christ, the old should be going out of our lives and the new creation that God is working on should be coming in. The only way that this new year will bear results of God working in our lives is when we know there needs to be change, we allow God to make that change. Change is not good if God is not in it. Change is not good if we know the change is not going to please God because in our haste, we make poor choices. 2012 is a brand new year, start it out by putting God first! I pray that each one of you find the new year to be all that God intended it to be for you and your family. Apostle Paul says it best- “And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:9-11

Christmas Eve Cookie Social
I know it was mentioned briefly, but I wanted to take a minute to remind you of the cookie social following Christmas Eve Service. If you have favorite cookies or other Christmas goodies you would like to share please feel free to bring it along with you to service.
This is just a brief time to share with your church family before the hustle and bustle of Christmas Day. Please continue to be in prayer about who you can invite to Christmas Eve service. I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!
Christmas Reflection
To the most precious people in God’s Kingdom,
I just want to take a moment to thank you for being a part of this family of believers at Rosedale. I do not get a chance often to tell you how much of a part that you play in the work and success of what we are accomplishing. I hope that phrases we use often from the pulpit are not just words that make us smile. Phrases like “what a coincidence” and “God is doing amazing things” are more than cute; they are accomplishments that God is doing in our lives. What a coincidence is reference that we know that nothing that happens to us is by chance, that God has His hands in our lives and that we can trust Him. God is doing amazing thngs is not just for someone else, but that each one of us believes that God is doing something special in our lives, in our families life, and in our church family.
May this Christmas be a time to thank God for an amazing year and for Jesus coming to fulfill prophecy– but also to redeem mankind. All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet. The virgin will be with child and will give birth, and they will call him Immanuel- which means “God with us.”

Only 208 Days to go!
208 days? Whatever could I be talking about? I know it seems far away, but if you’re like me (and I hope you are about this) YOU are already incredibly excited. I know, you are trying to figure out what I could possibly be that excited about. Well… in 208 Days (and coming soon) it will be time for VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL!!!!
What is the theme? What crafts will be created? What stories will the kids learn? Mark your calendars for July 16 – 20, 2012. More details will be coming soon, but please be in prayer about how you will help makes this year’s vacation bible school a huge success!
Christmas Program!
Hi Everyone,
Just a quick note to ask you to be in prayer who you can invite to the Christmas play this week. You can use this as a tool to reach someone who would not normally come to church. You can also invite them to stay for our dinner afterwards. It is a great time to get people to know each other. Blessings! Our God is amazing and is doing amazing things!
