Being Smart

Aug 31, 2011   //   by Pastor Tony Zibolski   //   Pastor's Corner  //  2 Comments

For we are not fighting against human beings but against  the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities, and  cosmic powers of this dark age. So put on God’s armor now! Then when the evil  day comes, you will be able to resist the enemy’s attacks; and after fighting  to the end, you will still hold your ground. So stand ready, with truth as a  belt tight around your waist, with righteousness as your breastplate …. (Ephesians 6:12-14 TEV)

That verse has struck home with me this morning. As Christians, we are fighting each other rather than realizing who the real enemy of our lives is. Would you consider this week taking time to pray that the Lord would make you sensitive to what He desires to do in your life and in the life of those that you love? Would you intentionally lift up your church family and those that you know that have been struggling with some issues in their lives? Would you lift up your pastor that I would hear from Heaven as we move forward in the call that the Lord has given us? Spiritual battles can only be won in the spiritual realm. We must cry out to God to intervine on our behalf. As we continue in the sermon series “The Fruit of the Spirit”, would you be praying that the Lord will do something amazing in our lives? P.U.S.H. (Pray Until Something Happens!)

Miracles are right around the corner….we just have to get around the corner!

World Series example

Aug 24, 2011   //   by Pastor Tony Zibolski   //   Pastor's Corner  //  2 Comments

Hi everyone,

This week I went to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa. It was exciting watching teams from around the world compete for the prize of champion. People in the stands showing their support by yelling, making signs, starting stadium waves, and by objecting to anyone saying a bad thing about  “their team.”  People who otherwise would not give the time of day to each other are now hugging each other and giving words of encouragement. I think there is a sermon illustration  here! What would our church look like if we showed that same support for our team, offered words of encouragement and hugged someone that was having a bad day. If 12-13 year old kids can draw people together, how much more should the love of Jesus draw us together?

Website Tip: Scheduled Publishing!

Aug 19, 2011   //   by admin   //   Web Support  //  No Comments

Every now and again, I’ll share something useful (there’s a joke there) concerning the website through little posts like these. Hopefully you find them helpful!

Did you know that you can schedule a post for a future date? Even a certain time down to the minute? You sure can!

Maybe you have an event next Sunday and want to post a ‘reminder’ this Sunday and then once on next Saturday. You could write both posts right now and just schedule them for the time you want them published– and the best part is that it’s really easy too!

  1. Write your post as normal.
  2. When finished, don’t click the blue Publish button immediately.
  3.  Instead, click on the Edit link next to “Publish Immediately”
  4. Change the date and time in the boxes that appear.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click the blue Publish button

That’s it! Now you can let the website manage your posting for you while you concentrate on other things!

Hope that helps!

The Ordinary Doing the Extra-Ordinary

Aug 17, 2011   //   by Pastor Tony Zibolski   //   Pastor's Corner  //  No Comments

Most people believe that if God still does miracles, He only does them through a select group of people. The truth is that He is looking for people that would trust Him enough to be vessels or tools He could use. What would God be able to accomplish at Rosedale Nazarene Church (RNC) if people who usually sit back would instead become active in the building of God’s kingdom? What lives would be touched if ordinary people like you and me partnered with God by making ourselves available to Him? You were created to walk out your door each morning trusting that God will do something amazing and that you can be a part of it.

Here is your verse to think about before we meet again:

“To Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory.” Ephesians 3:20-21

You think about that.

Amen
