Being Smart

Aug 31, 2011   //   by Pastor Tony Zibolski   //   Pastor's Corner  //  2 Comments

For we are not fighting against human beings but against  the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities, and  cosmic powers of this dark age. So put on God’s armor now! Then when the evil  day comes, you will be able to resist the enemy’s attacks; and after fighting  to the end, you will still hold your ground. So stand ready, with truth as a  belt tight around your waist, with righteousness as your breastplate …. (Ephesians 6:12-14 TEV)

That verse has struck home with me this morning. As Christians, we are fighting each other rather than realizing who the real enemy of our lives is. Would you consider this week taking time to pray that the Lord would make you sensitive to what He desires to do in your life and in the life of those that you love? Would you intentionally lift up your church family and those that you know that have been struggling with some issues in their lives? Would you lift up your pastor that I would hear from Heaven as we move forward in the call that the Lord has given us? Spiritual battles can only be won in the spiritual realm. We must cry out to God to intervine on our behalf. As we continue in the sermon series “The Fruit of the Spirit”, would you be praying that the Lord will do something amazing in our lives? P.U.S.H. (Pray Until Something Happens!)

Miracles are right around the corner….we just have to get around the corner!

World Series example

Aug 24, 2011   //   by Pastor Tony Zibolski   //   Pastor's Corner  //  2 Comments

Hi everyone,

This week I went to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa. It was exciting watching teams from around the world compete for the prize of champion. People in the stands showing their support by yelling, making signs, starting stadium waves, and by objecting to anyone saying a bad thing about  “their team.”  People who otherwise would not give the time of day to each other are now hugging each other and giving words of encouragement. I think there is a sermon illustration  here! What would our church look like if we showed that same support for our team, offered words of encouragement and hugged someone that was having a bad day. If 12-13 year old kids can draw people together, how much more should the love of Jesus draw us together?

The Ordinary Doing the Extra-Ordinary

Aug 17, 2011   //   by Pastor Tony Zibolski   //   Pastor's Corner  //  No Comments

Most people believe that if God still does miracles, He only does them through a select group of people. The truth is that He is looking for people that would trust Him enough to be vessels or tools He could use. What would God be able to accomplish at Rosedale Nazarene Church (RNC) if people who usually sit back would instead become active in the building of God’s kingdom? What lives would be touched if ordinary people like you and me partnered with God by making ourselves available to Him? You were created to walk out your door each morning trusting that God will do something amazing and that you can be a part of it.

Here is your verse to think about before we meet again:

“To Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory.” Ephesians 3:20-21

You think about that.

Amen

Do you expect a miracle?

Aug 9, 2011   //   by Pastor Tony Zibolski   //   Pastor's Corner  //  No Comments

Truth be told, what do you expect to happen today? This week? This month? This year? Do you live everyday like you are in survival mode or are you living in an expectation that right around the corner is something amazing that the Lord is going to do?  The Bible tells us to “ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” (Matt. 7:7) How many of us live that way? As pastor of a small but healthy and growing church, how many are asking God for things that are bigger than themselves or bigger than what they can muster up themselves? God is still in the miracle business but we are not asking for Him to do any!

We go to work, we have our moment in church and we don’t think bigger than that. There is a new way that you can look at this world! It is through the eyes of God. We have all experienced divine moments, supernatural provisions; we have all said , “I’ll never forget the time that…” Yet, that is what we have done: forgotten that God is still in the business of taking care of His people and blessing those who dare to have a living faith instead of watered-down memories. How about this week, you come to God with a heart of expectaion not only for a miracle in your life, but that you might be a tool that God could use to provide a miracle in someone else’s life? This would be living the way God intended us to.

Reflection

Aug 4, 2011   //   by Pastor Tony Zibolski   //   Pastor's Corner  //  1 Comment

Good morning everyone!

As I get back in the saddle of working after having a great time with family and friends, I find myself reflecting on what is important. Vacation has a way of telling us that we need a time away and a time of refreshing.  The precious time I spent on my mother’s pier fishing, time spent thinking about all the great people God has brought into my life, and my quiet time as I seek to find direction and strength for what the Lord still has for me to do: all these have importance. Don’t let your time slip away with the busyness of life. Take time this week to see the value of friendship and the value of the people God has blessed you with. You are a precious gift to me and my family, and the best place to be is in the wonderful arms and presence of Jesus!

Reader’s Choice

Jul 13, 2011   //   by Pastor Tony Zibolski   //   Pastor's Corner  //  1 Comment

I have just read a great book. The title is “Heaven is for Real” by Todd Burpo. It is wriiten by a father of a 4 year old who experienced death and seeing Jesus Christ in a 3 minute visit to heaven.  Quick and easy read that will get you shouting with excitement. Let me know what you think of it?
